The main advantage of electrostatic precipitators is their high efficiency (which may reach 99%). The reason for incredibly high efficiency is possibility of collecting even the smallest dust particles – from 0,005 do 10 μm. The build of electrostatic precipitators, in opposite to ceramic or bag filters, does not consist of porous structures. Therefore, using precipitators which operating principle is based on electrostatic field provides low maintenance cost – there’s no need for periodic parts replacement. Additionally, the device is fully automated. Therefore the maintenance of electrostatic precipitator comes down to dust tank discharging. What’s more, the flow resistance and power consumption (despite electrostatic precipitator’s high voltage) are quite low.
